We were commanded to recite al-Fatihah and whatever else was easy.
حدثنا أبو الوليد الطيالسي حدثنا همام عن قتادة عن أبي نضرة
أمرنا أن نقرأ بفاتحة الكتاب وما تيسر
Sourcing, its isnad is daif. Ahmad narrated it (3/3) from the hadith of Hammam, via the same chain. Qatada conceals gaps in his transmission, as noted previously (29), and I did not find an explicit statement of his direct hearing. It is astonishing that Hafiz bin Habban himself stated explicitly that the narration of one who conceals his source should not be relied upon when he transmits ambiguously, and he even listed Qatada among those who conceal their sources (in Majruhin 92/1). Yet he then crammed this very hadith into his Sahih (Ihsan 1787). So glory be to the One who never errs.
