The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the Zuhr and Asr prayers surahs such as at-Tariq, al-Buruj, and others like them.
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد عن سماك بن حرب
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يقرأ في الظهر والعصر بالسماء والطارق والسماء ذات البروج ونحوهما من السور
Its isnad is hasan. Tirmidhi transmitted it in the chapter on recitation in Dhuhr and Asr, no. 307, and Nasai, no. 980, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama, with this wording. Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 465.
