The men and women would perform ablution together during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Musaddad said, "From a single vessel together."
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا حماد عن أيوب عن نافع ح و حدثنا عبد الله بن مسلمة عن مالك عن نافع
كان الرجال والنساء يتوضئون في زمان رسول الله ﷺ قال مسدد من الإناء الواحد جميعا
Bukhari recorded it in the Book of Wudu, Chapter on a man performing wudu with his wife etc., number 193, from the hadith of Malik, and it is in Muwatta (Yahya), 1/24. Nasai also recorded it, numbers 71 and 343, as did Ibn Majah, number 381.
