Abbas bin Sahl reported,

Abu Humayd, Abu Usayd, Sahl bin Saad, and Muhammad bin Maslama gathered together and discussed the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Abu Humayd said, "I am the most knowledgeable among you about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He then mentioned part of this account, saying, "He bowed and placed his hands on his knees as though gripping them, keeping his arms taut and away from his sides. Then he prostrated, pressing his nose and forehead firmly to the ground, holding his arms away from his sides, and placing his palms level with his shoulders. Then he raised his head until every bone returned to its place, and continued in this manner until he finished. Then he sat, spreading out his left leg beneath him and turning the front of his right foot toward the qiblah. He placed his right palm on his right knee and his left palm on his left knee, and pointed with his finger."
