He was in a gathering attended by his father, who was one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, and present in that gathering were Abu Hurairah, Abu Humayd al-Saidi, and Abu Usayd. Yazid related this report with some additions or omissions. In it he said, "Then he raised his head," meaning from the bowing, "and said, 'Allah hears whoever praises Him. O Allah, our Lord, to You belongs all praise.' Then he raised his hands and said, 'Allah is the greatest,' and prostrated. He rested upon his palms, his knees, and the front parts of his feet while in prostration. Then he said the takbir and sat, placing his weight on his left side and propping up his other foot. Then he said the takbir and prostrated. Then he said the takbir and stood up without sitting on his side."He then continued the hadith and said, "Then he sat after the two rakahs, and when he intended to rise for standing, he stood with a takbir. Then he prayed the remaining two rakahs."He did not mention the sitting on the side during the tashahhud.
[Its chain is daif] Ibn Hibban recorded it, no. 496, and Bayhaqi, 2/101, 102, 118, and Tahawi in Maani al-Athar, 1/260, from the hadith of Abu Badr, affirming the raising of the hands before and after ruku. Nimawi, one of the extreme Hanafis, graded it sahih in Athar al-Sunan, no. 449. The hadith has corroborating witnesses, see the following hadith, apart from his words, "then he said the takbir, sat, and did tawarruk," (he did not do tawarruk) the rest of the hadith is sahih by way of its corroborating witnesses.Isa bin Abdullah bin Malik is of unknown status, no one but Ibn Hibban confirmed his reliability.
