The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Differ from the Jews, for they do not pray in their sandals or their leather socks."
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا مروان بن معاوية الفزاري عن هلال بن ميمون الرملي
قال رسول الله ﷺ خالفوا اليهود فإنهم لا يصلون في نعالهم ولا خفافهم
[Its chain is sahih] Baghawi narrated it in Sharh al-Sunnah, no. 534, from the hadith of Abu Dawud through the same route, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 357, as did Hakim, 1/260, and Dhahabi agreed with him.Marwan bin Muawiya stated explicitly that he heard it directly, as recorded by Ibn Hibban.
