Hudhayfah led the people in prayer at al-Madain while standing on a raised platform. Abu Masud grabbed hold of his shirt and pulled him down. When Hudhayfah finished his prayer, Abu Masud said, "Don't you know that they used to forbid this?"Hudhayfah replied, "Yes, I remembered it the moment you pulled me."

Its isnad is daif. Shafii narrated it in Al-Umm: 1/172, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 1523, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 373, and Ibn Jarud, no. 313, and Hakim: 1/210, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Amash is a mudallis, as previously mentioned at 14, and I have not found an explicit statement of his having heard it, and his hadith has a daif corroborating narration, see the following hadith.
