The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The closest of people to Allah are those who are the first to greet others with salaam."
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى بن فارس الذهلي حدثنا أبو عاصم عن أبي خالد وهب عن أبي سفيان الحمصي
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن أولى الناس بالله من بدأهم بالسلام
[Its isnad is sahih. Bayhaqi narrated it in Shuab al-Iman, no. 8787, from the hadith of Abu Dawud, and Ibn Mulaqqin graded it hasan in Tuhfat al-Muhtaj, no. 1624]
