The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you is invited to a meal and comes along with the messenger, that itself counts as permission for him to enter."Abu Ali al-Luluiy said, I heard Abu Dawud say, Qatada did not hear anything from Abu Rafi.
حدثنا حسين بن معاذ حدثنا عبد الأعلى حدثنا سعيد عن قتادة عن أبي رافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إذا دعي أحدكم إلى طعام فجاء مع الرسول فإن ذلك له إذن قال أبو على اللؤلؤي سمعت أبا داود يقول قتادة لم يسمع من أبي رافع شيئا
[Its chain is daif] Bukhari narrated it in Adab al-Mufrad, no. 1075, from the hadith of Abdul-Ala bin Abdul-Ala, through him, and he mentioned it in suspended form (muallaq) in his Sahih before hadith no. 6246, and Ahmad narrated it, 2/533, from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Aruba, through him, and the preceding hadith serves as a corroborating witness for it.Qatada used an ambiguous form of transmission (anana).
