He was among those who witnessed Hudaybiyyah with the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Treating those under one's authority well is a blessing, and bad character is a misfortune."
حدثنا إبراهيم بن موسى أخبرنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن عثمان بن زفر عن بعض بني رافع بن مكيث
وكان ممن شهد الحديبية مع النبي ﷺ أن النبي ﷺ قال حسن الملكة يمن وسوء الخلق شؤم
Its chain of transmission is daif. Ahmad narrated it (3/502) from Abdul-Razzaq, and it is found in his Musannaf (Jami Maamar 20118).Uthman bin Zafar is mastur (of unknown status), and none but Ibn Hibban has deemed him reliable. See the hadith that follows.
