I had a wife whom I loved, but Umar disliked her. He said to me, "Divorce her."I refused. So Umar went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned the matter to him.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Divorce her."
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا يحيى عن ابن أبي ذئب قال حدثني خالي الحارث
كانت تحتي امرأة وكنت أحبها وكان عمر يكرهها فقال لي طلقها فأبيت فأتى عمر النبي ﷺ فذكر ذلك له فقال النبي ﷺ طلقها
[Its isnad is hasan] Ibn Majah narrated it in "Divorce," chapter: A man whose father orders him to divorce his wife, hadith no. 2088, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, transmitted through him, and Tirmidhi narrated it, hadith no. 1189, through him.
