"With what did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ begin his prayer when he rose at night?"She replied, "You have asked me about something no one has asked me about before. When he rose at night, he would say 'Allahu Akbar' ten times, praise Allah ten times, say 'Subhan Allah wa bi-hamdihi' ten times, say 'Subhan al-Malik al-Quddus' ten times, seek forgiveness ten times, declare Allah's oneness ten times, then say ten times, 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the constraints of this world and the constraints of the Day of Resurrection.' Then he would begin the prayer."
