The Messenger of Allah ﷺ confided to him, saying, "When you finish the maghrib prayer, say seven times, 'O Allah, grant me protection from the Fire.' For if you say that and then die during the night, protection from it will be recorded for you. And when you pray fajr, say the same. For if you die during the day, protection from it will be recorded for you."Abu Saeed informed me from Harith that he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ confided this to us, so we share it exclusively with our brothers."
حدثنا إسحق بن إبراهيم أبو النضر الدمشقي حدثنا محمد بن شعيب قال أخبرني أبو سعيد الفلسطيني عبد الرحمن بن حسان عن الحارث بن مسلم أنه أخبره
عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه أسر إليه فقال إذا انصرفت من صلاة المغرب فقل اللهم أجرني من النار سبع مرات فإنك إذا قلت ذلك ثم مت في ليلتك كتب لك جوار منها وإذا صليت الصبح فقل كذلك فإنك إن مت في يومك كتب لك جوار منها أخبرني أبو سعيد عن الحارث أنه قال أسرها إلينا رسول الله ﷺ فنحن نخص بها إخواننا
[Hasan] Ahmad reported it, 4/234, and Nasai in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla, no. 111, and in al-Kubra, no. 9935, from the hadith of Abu Saeed Filastini, with this wording, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2346. Harith bin Muslim was mentioned by some among the companions, and Ibn Hibban and others confirmed his reliability, so his hadith is hasan. See the hadith that follows.
