He was in the mosque of Hims when a man passed by, and the people said, "This man served the Prophet ﷺ." So he got up and went to him and said, "Narrate to me a hadith you heard directly from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, with no other men between you and him."The man said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever says when he rises in the morning and when he enters the evening, "We are pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Messenger," it is binding upon Allah to please him.'"
حدثنا حفص بن عمر حدثنا شعبة عن أبي عقيل عن سابق بن ناجية
أنه كان في مسجد حمص فمر به رجل فقالوا هذا خدم النبي ﷺ فقام إليه فقال حدثني بحديث سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ لم يتداوله بينك وبينه الرجال قال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من قال إذا أصبح وإذا أمسى رضينا بالله ربا وبالإسلام دينا وبمحمد رسولا إلا كان حقا على الله أن يرضيه
Its chain of transmission is hasan. It was collected by Ahmad, 4/337, and by Nasai in al-Kubra, no. 9832, and in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla, no. 4, from the hadith of Shubah, with the same chain. Hakim graded it sahih, 1/518, and Dhahabi agreed with him.Sabiq bin Najiyah, his hadith is hasan, previously mentioned, no. 3653.
