The Prophet ﷺ used to say when evening came, "We have entered the evening and the dominion belongs to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, without partner."In the narration of Jareer, there is an addition. As for Zubayd, he used to say that Ibrahim bin Suwayd would say, "There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is capable of all things. Lord, I ask You for the good of this night and the good of what follows it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what follows it. Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and from the wretchedness of old age," or "disbelief. Lord, I seek refuge in You from punishment in the Fire and punishment in the grave."And when morning came, he would say the same, "We have entered the morning and the dominion belongs to Allah."
حدثنا وهب بن بقية عن خالد ح و حدثنا محمد بن قدامة بن أعين حدثنا جرير عن الحسن بن عبيد الله عن إبراهيم بن سويد عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد
أن النبي ﷺ كان يقول إذا أمسى أمسينا وأمسى الملك لله لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له زاد في حديث جرير وأما زبيد كان يقول كان إبراهيم بن سويد يقول لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير رب أسألك خير ما في هذه الليلة وخير ما بعدها وأعوذ بك من شر ما في هذه الليلة وشر ما بعدها رب أعوذ بك من الكسل ومن سوء الكبر أو الكفر رب أعوذ بك من عذاب في النار وعذاب في القبر وإذا أصبح قال ذلك أيضا أصبحنا وأصبح الملك لله
