The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should say, 'My soul has become wicked,' but rather let him say, 'My soul has become uneasy.'"
حدثنا أحمد بن صالح حدثنا ابن وهب قال أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا يقولن أحدكم خبثت نفسي وليقل لقست نفسي
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Manners, chapter "One should not say, 'My soul has become foul,'" hadith no. 6180, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Wordings, Manners, and Other Topics, chapter "The dislike of a person saying, 'My soul has become foul,'" hadith no. 2251, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Wahb.
