The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever takes my name shall not take my kunya, and whoever takes my kunya shall not take my name."
حدثنا مسلم بن إبراهيم حدثنا هشام عن أبي الزبير
أن النبي ﷺ قال من تسمى باسمي فلا يتكنى بكنيتي ومن تكنى بكنيتي فلا يتسمى باسمي
Its chain is daif. Ahmad narrated it in 1/313 from the hadith of Hisham through the same route, and Tirmidhi narrated it, no. 2842, from the hadith of Abu Zubayr through the same route. Bayhaqi graded it sahih in Shuab al-Iman, no. 8634, but its chain is daif. The hadith of Bukhari, no. 3538, and Muslim, no. 2133, suffices in its place.
