The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a man rises from his seat and then returns to it, he has the greater right to it."
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد عن سهيل بن أبي صالح قال كنت عند أبي جالسا وعنده غلام فقام ثم رجع فحدث أبي
عن النبي ﷺ قال إذا قام الرجل من مجلس ثم رجع إليه فهو أحق به
Recorded by Muslim, chapter on greetings, "The Chapter on if one gets up from his seat and then returns, he has the most right to it," hadith 2179, from the hadith of Suhayl bin Abu Salih through this route.
