Whenever we came to the Prophet ﷺ, each of us would sit wherever he reached.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر الوركاني وهناد أن شريكا أخبرهم عن سماك
كنا إذا أتينا النبي ﷺ جلس أحدنا حيث ينتهي
Its chain of transmission is daif. Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Seeking Permission, in the chapter on the three men who came to the Prophet's gathering and the hadith of where they sat in the assembly, hadith 2725, from the hadith of Sharik the judge, with the same wording, and he said, hasan sahih gharib. The hadith has corroborating narrations. Sharik narrated using the ambiguous form "an," and I did not find the narration of Zuhayr bin Muawiya. The hadith has a daif corroborating narration in Mujam al-Kabir, 7:300–301, hadith 7197. The hadith of Bukhari, hadith 66, and Muslim, hadith 2176, makes it unnecessary.
