Mutarrif reported,

My father said, "I set out with the delegation of Banu Amir to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We said to him, 'You are our master.'He replied, 'The Master is Allah .'We said, 'And the most excellent of us in virtue and the greatest of us in bounty.'He said, 'Say what you have to say, or some of what you have to say, but do not let Satan lead you on.'"

حدثنا مسدد حدثنا بشر يعني ابن المفضل حدثنا أبو مسلمة سعيد بن يزيد عن أبي نضرة

قال أبي انطلقت في وفد بني عامر إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقلنا أنت سيدنا فقال السيد الله تبارك وتعالى قلنا وأفضلنا فضلا وأعظمنا طولا فقال قولوا بقولكم أو بعض قولكم ولا يستجرينكم الشيطان
