He said, "Adba was never outrun. Then an Arabi came on a young camel of his and raced her, and the Arabi outran her. This seemed to weigh heavily on the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he said, 'It is a right upon Allah that He does not raise anything in this world without bringing it down.'"
حدثنا موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد عن ثابت
قال كانت العضباء لا تسبق فجاء أعرابي على قعود له فسابقها فسبقها الأعرابي فكأن ذلك شق على أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ فقال حق على الله عز وجل أن لا يرفع شيئا من الدنيا إلا وضعه
Sourcing, its isnad is sahih. Ibn Hajar cited it in Taghliq Taliq 3/400 from the hadith of Abu Dawud through this same route, and Bukhari referenced it as a suspended hadith in his Sahih, in the Book of Jihad, chapter on the Prophet's ﷺ she-camel, hadith 2872, from Musa bin Ismail.
