The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah created Adam from a handful that He took from all of the earth, so the children of Adam came forth in accordance with the earth. Among them came the red, the white, the black, and what is between that, the soft and the rough, the wicked and the good."In the report of Yahya there is the addition, "and what is between that." The phrasing as a statement appears in the report of Yazid.
حدثنا مسدد أن يزيد بن زريع ويحيى بن سعيد حدثاهم قالا حدثنا عوف قال حدثنا قسامة بن زهير قال
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن الله خلق آدم من قبضة قبضها من جميع الأرض فجاء بنو آدم على قدر الأرض جاء منهم الأحمر والأبيض والأسود وبين ذلك والسهل والحزن والخبيث والطيب زاد في حديث يحيى وبين ذلك والإخبار في حديث يزيد
[Its isnad is sahih] Tirmidhi narrated it in the tafsir of the Quran, chapter on Surah Baqarah, from Qattan, with the same wording, and he said, hasan sahih. Hakim also graded it sahih (2/261, no. 2955) from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, with the same wording, and he said, hasan sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
