The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, I have been given the Book and something equivalent to it along with it. Beware, the time is near when a man, well-fed and reclining on his couch, will say, 'Stick to this Quran. Whatever you find permitted in it, treat as lawful, and whatever you find forbidden in it, treat as unlawful.' Beware, the flesh of domestic donkeys is not lawful for you, nor is any fanged beast of prey, nor a lost item belonging to a non-Muslim under treaty unless its owner has no need of it. Whoever stops as a guest with a people, it is their duty to host him. If they fail to host him, he has the right to take from them the equivalent of what their hospitality would have provided."
