In this account it is stated that the woman against whom the judgment of a slave as blood-money was given later died. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then ruled that her inheritance belonged to her sons and that the blood-money was the responsibility of her paternal male relatives.
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا الليث عن ابن شهاب عن ابن المسيب
في هذه القصة قال ثم إن المرأة التي قضى عليها بالغرة توفيت فقضى رسول الله ﷺ بأن ميراثها لبنيها وأن العقل على عصبتها
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Inheritance, chapter on the inheritance of the wife and husband along with children and others, hadith no. 6740, and Muslim in the Book of Qasamah, chapter on the diya for a fetus and the obligation of diya in cases of accidental killing, etc., hadith no. 1681, both from Qutayba with this chain.
