The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made it obligatory, and he mentioned the like of the hadith of Musa, and he said, "And upon those who possess food, something which I do not remember."
قال أبو داود قرأت على سعيد بن يعقوب الطالقاني قال حدثنا أبو تميلة حدثنا محمد بن إسحق قال ذكر عطاء
فرض رسول الله ﷺ فذكر مثل حديث موسى وقال وعلى أهل الطعام شيئا لا أحفظه

[Its chain is daif] Bayhaqi narrated it in 8/78 through the hadith of Abu Dawud in this manner. Muhammad bin Ishaq did not explicitly state that he heard it directly.
