While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was distributing a share of something, a man came forward and leaned in close over him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ poked him with a palm-branch he was holding, and it scratched his face.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Come, take your retaliation."The man replied, "Rather, I pardon you, Messenger of Allah."
حدثنا أحمد بن صالح حدثنا ابن وهب عن عمرو يعني ابن الحارث عن بكير بن الأشج عن عبيدة بن مسافع
بينما رسول الله ﷺ يقسم قسما أقبل رجل فأكب عليه فطعنه رسول الله ﷺ بعرجون كان معه فجرح بوجهه فقال له رسول الله ﷺ تعال فاستقد فقال بل عفوت يا رسول الله
Its chain of transmission is daif. Nasai narrated it in the chapter on retaliation for stabbing, hadith 4777, from the narration of Abdullah bin Wahb, with this wording.Ubayda bin Musafih was not deemed reliable by anyone except Ibn Hibban, and Ibn Madini said, "He is unknown, and I do not know whether he heard from Abu Saeed or not."
