I do not pay blood-money, nor would I ever pay blood-money for anyone upon whom I have carried out a prescribed punishment, except for the one who drinks wine, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not establish a fixed penalty for it. It is only something we ourselves determined.

لا أدي أو ما كنت لأدي من أقمت عليه حدا إلا شارب الخمر فإن رسول الله ﷺ لم يسن فيه شيئا إنما هو شيء قلناه نحن
Sourcing, sahih. Sharik was not the only one to narrate it, and the basis of the hadith was narrated by Bukhari, no. 6778, and Muslim, no. 1707, through another route from Abu Husayn with the same wording.
