A slave girl belonging to the household of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ committed fornication. He said, "Ali, go and carry out the prescribed punishment on her."So I went, and found that she was bleeding heavily and the bleeding had not stopped. I returned to him.He asked, "Ali, have you carried it out?"I replied, "I came to her while her blood was still flowing."He said, "Leave her until her bleeding stops, then carry out the punishment on her. And carry out the prescribed punishments on those whom your right hands possess."

فجرت جارية لآل رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا علي انطلق فأقم عليها الحد فانطلقت فإذا بها دم يسيل لم ينقطع فأتيته فقال يا علي أفرغت قلت أتيتها ودمها يسيل فقال دعها حتى ينقطع دمها ثم أقم عليها الحد وأقيموا الحدود على ما ملكت أيمانكم

Its chain of transmission is daif. Ahmad reported it, 10/89, and Nasai in Kubra, no. 7268, from the hadith of Abdul-Ala bin Amir Thalabi, with this wording, but he is daif. The hadith of Muslim, no. 1705, is sufficient in its place.
