Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

The Jews brought to him a man and a woman of theirs who had committed adultery.The Prophet said, "Bring me the two most learned men among you."So they brought him the two sons of Suriya, and he put them under oath, asking, "How do you find the ruling concerning these two in the Torah?"They replied, "We find in the Torah that if four witnesses testify that they saw his organ inside her private part like the applicator in the kohl jar, then he is to be stoned."He asked, "Then what keeps you from stoning them?"They said, "Our authority is gone, so we were unwilling to carry out the execution."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then called for the witnesses, and they brought four men who testified that they had seen his organ inside her private part like the applicator in the kohl jar. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the two of them be stoned.He did not mention, "then he called for the witnesses and they testified."

حدثنا وهب بن بقية عن هشيم عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم والشعبي عن النبي ﷺ نحوه لم يذكر فدعا بالشهود فشهدوا
