It was reported from the Prophet ﷺ that a man came to him and confessed that he had committed adultery with a woman whom he named. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for the woman and asked her about it, but she denied having committed adultery. So he had the prescribed punishment carried out on him and let her go.

عن النبي ﷺ أن رجلا أتاه فأقر عنده أنه زنى بامرأة سماها له فبعث رسول الله ﷺ إلى المرأة فسألها عن ذلك فأنكرت أن تكون زنت فجلده الحد وتركها
