The Aslami came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and testified against himself four times that he had unlawfully lain with a woman, and each time the Prophet ﷺ turned away from him. On the fifth time the Prophet ﷺ faced him and asked, "Did you penetrate her?"He said, "Yes."The Prophet asked, "Until that part of you disappeared inside that part of her?"He said, "Yes."The Prophet asked, "Just as the kohl stick disappears in the kohl jar and the rope in the well?"He said, "Yes."The Prophet asked, "Do you know what fornication is?"He said, "Yes. I did to her unlawfully what a man does to his wife lawfully."The Prophet asked, "Then what do you want by saying this?"He said, "I want you to purify me."So the Prophet gave the order, and the man was stoned. Then the Prophet ﷺ overheard two of his companions, one saying to the other, "Look at this man. Allah had concealed his sin, but he would not let himself rest until he was stoned like a dog."The Prophet said nothing to them. He traveled on for a while until he passed the carcass of a donkey with its leg sticking up in the air. He asked, "Where are so-and-so and so-and-so?"They said, "Here we are, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Dismount and eat from the carcass of this donkey."They said, "Prophet of Allah, who could eat any of this?"He said, "What you two just took from your brother's honor is far worse than eating from it. By Him in whose hand my soul rests, he is right now plunging himself in the rivers of Paradise."The narrator added that they differed in what they reported to him. Some said the man was tied to a tree, and others said he was made to stand.
