I was with Abu Bakr when he became furious with a man and dealt harshly with him.I said, "Will you permit me, successor of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, to strike off his neck?"My words drove away his anger. He got up and went inside, then sent for me and asked, "What was it you said just now?"I replied, "I said, permit me to strike off his neck."He asked, "Would you really have done it had I ordered you?"I said, "Yes."He said, "No, by Allah, that was not to be granted to any human being after Muhammad ﷺ."

كنت عند أبي بكر رضي الله عنه فتغيظ على رجل فاشتد عليه فقلت تأذن لي يا خليفة رسول الله ﷺ أضرب عنقه قال فأذهبت كلمتي غضبه فقام فدخل فأرسل إلي فقال ما الذي قلت آنفا قلت ائذن لي أضرب عنقه قال أكنت فاعلا لو أمرتك قلت نعم قال لا والله ما كانت لبشر بعد محمد ﷺ
[Its isnad is hasan] Nasai narrated it in Tahrim al-Dam, chapter on mentioning the disagreement over Amash regarding this hadith, no. 4082, from the hadith of Yazid bin Zuray, through the same chain.
