Muslim bin Abu Bakra reported,

I heard my father narrate that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "People from my nation will settle in a low-lying place which they will call Basra, beside a river called the Tigris, over which there will be a bridge. Its inhabitants will grow numerous, and it will become one of the cities of the Muhajirun."Ibn Yahya said that Abu Muamar said, "And it will become one of the cities of the Muslims.""When the end of time draws near, the Banu Qantura will come, broad-faced and small-eyed, until they camp on the bank of the river. Its people will then split into three groups. One group will cling to the tails of cattle and flee to the wilderness, and they will perish. Another group will seek safety for themselves and so disbelieve. The third group will place their children behind their backs and fight the invaders, and they are the martyrs."

حدثنا مسلم بن أبي بكرة قال

سمعت أبي يحدث أن رسول الله ﷺ قال ينزل ناس من أمتي بغائط يسمونه البصرة عند نهر يقال له دجلة يكون عليه جسر يكثر أهلها وتكون من أمصار المهاجرين قال ابن يحيى قال أبو معمر وتكون من أمصار المسلمين فإذا كان في آخر الزمان جاء بنو قنطوراء عراض الوجوه صغار الأعين حتى ينزلوا على شط النهر فيتفرق أهلها ثلاث فرق فرقة يأخذون أذناب البقر والبرية وهلكوا وفرقة يأخذون لأنفسهم وكفروا وفرقة يجعلون ذراريهم خلف ظهورهم ويقاتلونهم وهم الشهداء
