I was holding Ibn Umar's hand on one of the roads of Medina when we came upon a head mounted on a pole. He said, "Wretched is the one who killed this man."When he had moved on, he said, "And I do not think this one is anything but wretched himself. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever advances upon a man of my Ummah to kill him, let him say thus, for the killer is in the Fire and the slain is in Paradise.'"
