The Messenger of Allah ﷺ received a gift of jewelry sent to him by the Negus, among which was a gold ring set with an Abyssinian stone. She said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ picked it up with a stick, turning his face away from it, or with one of his fingers, then called Umama, daughter of Abu al-As, his granddaughter through his daughter Zaynab, and said, "Adorn yourself with this, my dear girl."

قدمت على النبي ﷺ حلية من عند النجاشي أهداها له فيها خاتم من ذهب فيه فص حبشي قالت فأخذه رسول الله ﷺ بعود معرضا عنه أو ببعض أصابعه ثم دعا أمامة ابنة أبي العاص ابنة ابنته زينب فقال تحلي بهذا يا بنية
