A man passed by the Prophet ﷺ who had dyed his hair with henna, and he said, "How beautiful this is."Then another man passed by who had dyed his hair with henna and katam, and he said, "This is more beautiful than that."Then another passed by who had dyed his hair yellow, and he said, "This is more beautiful than all of them."
حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة حدثنا إسحق بن منصور حدثنا محمد بن طلحة عن حميد بن وهب عن ابن طاوس عن طاوس
مر على النبي ﷺ رجل قد خضب بالحناء فقال ما أحسن هذا قال فمر آخر قد خضب بالحناء والكتم فقال هذا أحسن من هذا قال فمر آخر قد خضب بالصفرة فقال هذا أحسن من هذا كله
[Its chain is daif] Ibn Majah reported it in the Book of Clothing, Chapter on Dyeing with Yellow, hadith 3627, from the hadith of Ishaq bin Mansur, through this chain.Humayd bin Wahb, Bukhari, Ibn Hibban, and Aqeeli declared him daif, and I did not find anyone who deemed him trustworthy.
