Abu Talha Ansari reported,

Abu Talha said, "I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, 'The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.'"Then one of those present said, "Let us go to Umm Muiminin Ayesha and ask her about this."So we went, and we said, "Mother of the Believers, Abu Talha has told us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said such and such. Did you hear the Prophet ﷺ mention that?"She replied, "No, but let me tell you what I saw him do. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on one of his military expeditions, and I was watching for his return. I took a patterned curtain we owned and hung it across the doorway. When he arrived I went out to meet him and said, 'Peace be upon you, Messenger of Allah, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Praise be to Allah, who has honored you and given you dignity.'"He looked toward the house and saw the curtain, and he gave me no reply. I could see the displeasure on his face. He went to the curtain and tore it down, then said, 'Allah has not commanded us to clothe stone and brick with what He has provided for us.'"Ayesha continued, "So I cut it up and made two cushions from it, stuffing them with palm fiber, and he raised no objection to that."The narrator said, "So I said, 'Mother, this man told me that the Prophet ﷺ said...'" And Saeed bin Yasar, the freed slave of Banu Najjar, also reported this.
