I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for clothing, and he gave me two coarse linen garments. I later saw myself as the best-clothed among my companions.
حدثنا إبراهيم بن العلاء الزبيدي حدثنا إسمعيل بن عياش عن عقيل بن مدرك عن لقمان بن عامر
استكسيت رسول الله ﷺ فكساني خيشتين فلقد رأيتني وأنا أكسى أصحابي
[Its chain is daif] Ahmad narrated it (4/185) from the hadith of Ismail bin Ayyash, with this wording, and he made the hearing explicit in Musnad Shamiyin (2/415, no. 1610).Aqeel bin Mudrik, a group of narrators reported from him, and as far as I know no one deemed him reliable except Ibn Hibban.
