The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wear white clothing, for it is among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in it. The best of your kohls is ithmid, for it brightens the vision and makes the lashes grow."
حدثنا أحمد بن يونس حدثنا زهير حدثنا عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم عن سعيد بن جبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ البسوا من ثيابكم البياض فإنها من خير ثيابكم وكفنوا فيها موتاكم وإن خير أكحالكم الإثمد يجلو البصر وينبت الشعر
[Its isnad is hasan]. Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Funerals, Chapter on What Is Recommended Regarding Shrouds, hadith 994, and Ibn Majah, hadith 3566, from the hadith of Ibn Khuthaym, and Tirmidhi said, "hasan sahih." It will come again as hadith 4061.
