Ghalib bin Abjar reported,

A year of severe drought struck us, and I had nothing in my possession to feed my family except some donkeys. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had forbidden the flesh of domesticated donkeys, so I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, the drought has struck us, and I have nothing in my possession to feed my family except the fat of donkeys, and you have forbidden the flesh of domesticated donkeys."He said, "Feed your family from the fat of your donkeys. I only forbade them because of those that roam through the village's filth," meaning those that feed on refuse.

عن غالب بن أبجر قال

أصابتنا سنة فلم يكن في مالي شيء أطعم أهلي إلا شيء من حمر وقد كان رسول الله ﷺ حرم لحوم الحمر الأهلية فأتيت النبي ﷺ فقلت يا رسول الله أصابتنا السنة ولم يكن في مالي ما أطعم أهلي إلا سمان الحمر وإنك حرمت لحوم الحمر الأهلية فقال أطعم أهلك من سمين حمرك فإنما حرمتها من أجل جوال القرية يعني الجلالة
