The Prophet ﷺ held the wedding feast for Safiyyah with parched barley and dates.
حدثنا حامد بن يحيى حدثنا سفيان حدثنا وائل بن داود عن ابنه بكر بن وائل عن الزهري
أن النبي ﷺ أولم على صفية بسويق وتمر
[Hasan] Reported by Tirmidhi, Nikah, chapter on what has been said about the walimah, the wedding feast, no. 1095, and Ibn Majah, no. 1909, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with this wording. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan gharib." The hadith has corroborating narrations in Bukhari, no. 371, and Muslim, no. 1365, after no. 1427, and others.
