The Prophet ﷺ entered upon one of the Ansar along with a companion of his while the man was directing water through his garden. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you have water that has sat overnight in a waterskin, give us some. Otherwise, we will drink directly from the stream."The man replied, "Yes, I have water that has sat overnight in a waterskin."
[Sahih] Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Drinks, chapter on drinking directly from the water trough (bending down over it), no. 5621, from the hadith of Fulayh bin Sulayman, and Ibn Majah, no. 3432, from the hadith of Yunus bin Muhammad, via the same route.
