I knew that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was fasting, so I waited for the time of his breaking the fast and prepared for him a date drink in a gourd. Then I brought it to him, and it was bubbling.He said, "Throw this against the wall, for this is the drink of one who does not believe in Allah and the Last Day."

علمت أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يصوم فتحينت فطره بنبيذ صنعته في دباء ثم أتيته به فإذا هو ينش فقال اضرب بهذا الحائط فإن هذا شراب من لا يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر
[Sahih]. Nasai narrated it in the Book of Drinks, chapter on the prohibition of every drink that intoxicates in large quantity, no. 5213, from Hisham bin Ammar with this wording. Ibn Majah also narrated it, no. 3409.Qazaah bin Yahya also narrated it from Abu Hurairah with this wording, and Daraqutni (4/252).
