The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever intoxicates in large amounts, a small amount of it is forbidden."

قال رسول الله ﷺ ما أسكر كثيره فقليله حرام
ReferenceIts isnad is hasan. Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Drinks, chapter on what is said about that which intoxicates in large amounts being forbidden even in small amounts, hadith 1865, from Qutayba with the same wording, and he said, hasan gharib. Ibn Majah also narrated it, hadith 3393, and Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, hadith 860. It has another route in Ibn Hibban (Al-Ihsan) 7/379, hadith 5358.
