There was a piece of land between me and a Jewish man, and he denied my claim to it, so I brought him before the Prophet ﷺ.The Prophet ﷺ asked me, "Do you have any evidence?"I replied, "No."He said to the Jew, "Then take an oath."I said, "Messenger of Allah, if so, he will swear and take away my property."So Allah revealed, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their oaths for a small price..." to the end of the verse [Aal Imran 3:77].
حدثنا محمد بن عيسى حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن شقيق
كان بيني وبين رجل من اليهود أرض فجحدني فقدمته إلى النبي ﷺ فقال لي النبي ﷺ ألك بينة قلت لا قال لليهودي احلف قلت يا رسول الله إذا يحلف ويذهب بمالي فأنزل الله {إن الذين يشترون بعهد الله وأيمانهم ثمنا قليلا} إلى آخر الآية
