Two men brought a dispute over some property before the Prophet ﷺ, and neither of them had any evidence. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Cast lots for the oath, whether they like it or dislike it."
حدثنا محمد بن المنهال حدثنا يزيد بن زريع حدثنا ابن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن خلاس عن أبي رافع
أن رجلين اختصما في متاع إلى النبي ﷺ ليس لواحد منهما بينة فقال النبي ﷺ استهما على اليمين ما كان أحبا ذلك أو كرها
[Sahih] Ibn Majah reported it in the Book of Judgments, Chapter on ruling by drawing lots, no. 2346, from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Aruba, and its chain of transmission is daif, but the hadith has many corroborating narrations, including the coming hadith no. 3617.
