The Prophet ﷺ made an arrangement with the people of Khaybar to give them half of whatever the land produced in fruit or crops.
حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل حدثنا يحيى عن عبيد الله عن نافع
أن النبي ﷺ عامل أهل خيبر بشطر ما يخرج من ثمر أو زرع
Reported by Muslim in "Al-Musaqat," chapter "Al-Musaqat and Al-Muamalah for a Share of the Fruit and Crops," Hadith no. 1551, on the authority of Ahmad bin Hanbal, and by Bukhari in "Al-Harth wal-Muzaraah," chapter "If the Number of Years Is Not Stipulated in Muzaraah," Al-Qattan, Hadith no. 2329, from the hadith of Yahya, with the same wording.
