I was an orphan under the care of Rafi bin Khadij, and I performed the pilgrimage with him. My brother Imran bin Sahl came to him and said, "We have rented out our land to such-and-such a woman for two hundred dirhams."Rafi replied, "Leave that, for the Prophet ﷺ forbade the renting of land."
قال أبو داود قرأت على سعيد بن يعقوب الطالقاني قلت له حدثكم ابن المبارك عن سعيد أبي شجاع
إني ليتيم في حجر رافع بن خديج وحججت معه فجاءه أخي عمران بن سهل فقال أكرينا أرضنا فلانة بمائتي درهم فقال دعه فإن النبي ﷺ نهى عن كراء الأرض
[Its chain of transmission is daif]Nasai narrated it in the chapter on sharecropping, in the section mentioning the various hadiths on the prohibition of leasing land for a third or a quarter, etc., no. 3958, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Mubarak through this route, and he said, "Isa bin Sahl bin Rafi is correct," and this Isa was not deemed reliable by anyone other than Ibn Hibban.
