He used to narrate that the Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever follows a funeral procession and prays over the deceased earns one qirat of reward, and whoever follows it until the burial is complete earns two qirats, the smaller of which is like Mount Uhud," or, "one of which is like Mount Uhud."
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا سفيان عن سمي عن أبي صالح
يرويه قال من تبع جنازة فصلى عليها فله قيراط ومن تبعها حتى يفرغ منها فله قيراطان أصغرهما مثل أحد أو أحدهما مثل أحد
[Its isnad is sahih] Humaydi narrated it in his Musnad, no. 1027, from Sufyan bin Uyayna with this chain, and Muslim narrated it, no. 45/945, from the hadith of Abu Salih.
