Some people saw a fire in the cemetery, so they went toward it, and there they found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ inside a grave, saying, "Hand me your companion." It turned out to be the man who used to raise his voice in remembrance of Allah.
حدثنا محمد بن حاتم بن بزيع حدثنا أبو نعيم عن محمد بن مسلم عن عمرو بن دينار أخبرني جابر بن عبد الله أو سمعت
رأى ناس نارا في المقبرة فأتوها فإذا رسول الله ﷺ في القبر وإذا هو يقول ناولوني صاحبكم فإذا هو الرجل الذي كان يرفع صوته بالذكر
[Its isnad is hasan]. Bayhaqi narrated it: 4/31, 53 from the hadith of Abu Naeem through the same route, and Ibn Mulaqqin graded it sahih in Tuhfat al-Muhtaj, no. 881, as did Hakim, who said it meets the criteria of Muslim: 1/368, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Muhammad bin Muslim Taifi is hasan al-hadith, and the majority regarded him as reliable.
